Quality

High (default), Good, Draft, Preview. Each step down roughly halves the target bitrate/file size. High is the right choice for anything you're actually delivering; Draft/Preview are for quick internal review passes where file size matters more than looking your best.

No alpha support — H.264 composites any transparency over black.
