Metadata Panel

Hidden by default (View → Metadata Panel, Ctrl+Alt+M, to show). A floating panel — like the Render Queue, it never docks into the main window layout. Shows details for whichever clip is currently selected in the Input Panel.

Three sections:

  • TECH DETAILS — read-only, detected from the file itself: File, Format, Resolution, Frame rate, Start TC, Data level. Never editable — these are facts about the source, not something to override here.
  • SHOT & SCENE — editable production metadata: Scene, Shot name, Shot number, Shot size, Reel/tape, Alt timecode, Log comment. Type into any field; it commits when the field loses focus.
  • AI SOURCE — editable AI-generation metadata: AI generator, Digital source type, plus a read-only Platform field (the auto-detected source platform — shown for context, not editable here, so it can't drift out of sync with what detection actually found).

Edited fields are written back onto the clip's record and exported into the delivered file's own metadata where the target format supports it (see the relevant page under Export Formats).
