Colour Panel

The colour-grading controls for whichever layer is selected in the Layer Stack.

COLOR tab

Ten scrubby controls — scrub to adjust, double-click to reset:

Control What it does
Lift Adjusts shadows (primary colour-wheel equivalent).
Gamma Adjusts midtones.
Gain Adjusts highlights.
Offset Shifts the overall exposure/colour uniformly.
Brightness Overall brightness adjustment.
Contrast Overall contrast adjustment.
Saturation Colour intensity.
Hue Rotates colour around the colour wheel.
Shadow Lift Lifts or lowers shadow detail specifically.
Highlight Rolloff Softens or hardens the transition into clipped highlights.

A scope display sits alongside the controls for reference while grading, switchable between two modes from the "EDITING: LAYER N" row:

  • WAVEFORM (default) — dual-mode luma or RGB parade.
  • VECTORSCOPE — hue/saturation distribution. No longer a separate panel (it was one before 2026-08-15) — this in-panel toggle is now the only place to reach it.

The skin-tone highlight toggle lives in this same scope header, regardless of which mode is active.

MASK tab

Holds the qualifier controls (HSL, RGB, Skin, Luminance) used to target a correction at a specific colour range instead of the whole frame. See Masking & Qualifiers for the full reference.

Switching to the MASK tab automatically switches the Viewer to Active Mask mode, and vice versa — the two stay in sync in both directions.

SEGMENT tab

Shown when the selected layer is a Segment layer (added from the Layer Stack with + Segment Layer). Qualifier and shape tools are not used on this layer type — the Mask tab points you here instead.

Type a short subject in plain language ("person", "red jacket", "the dog") and click Segment. Transduce tracks that subject across every frame of the clip in one pass, not frame by frame. + add subject adds another prompt to the same pass; Add / Subtract on each subject folds them the same way geometric shapes already do (union, or punch a hole). A second Segment layer is the intended path when a distinct subject needs its own refinement.

Per-layer matte refinement (Despeckle, Hole Fill, Feather, Expand, Intensity) runs once on the folded result of all enabled subjects on that layer — the same engine as the Mask tab, not a separate per-subject set of knobs. While a pass is running, Segment becomes Cancel; after a successful pass it reads Re-segment.

If the model weights are not installed yet, Download SAM3 (~3.3GB) appears instead of Segment. See Masking & Qualifiers for the full reference, including Mask Lock.

ALPHA tab

Post-processes the combined per-clip alpha — the matte accumulated from every layer whose A+ or A− control is contributing (see Layer Stack). Opening this tab auto-switches the Main viewer to ALPHA.

A levels row (Gamma, Lo, Hi) is Alpha-specific. Below it, the same despeckle / hole-fill / expand / feather / intensity strip as the Mask tab, plus Invert. Until at least one layer is contributing, the tab shows an empty-state note instead of the controls.

Delivery of that matte — embed, standalone sequence, Cut Out — is configured in the Output Panel.
